Ohkay, I realize that I probably put some of you to sleep with my super long review for the book Shadow People, but I swear I'll try to contain myself this time and keep it sweet and simple...and shorter! Smile

Alright, Vampire Academy was pretty good because it had a good plot, comical characters that made me lmao alot, and some suprising twists that I would have NEVER seen coming!

VA is about Rose and Lissa, two best friends that have been bonded since Lissa used her powers to bring Rose back to life after a car accident. That bond means that Rsoe can feel Lissa's emotions and if they are strong enough, she is pulled into her head as if she were actually seeing through Lissa'a eyes! Anyways, Rose and Lissa had escaped from Vampire Academy two years ago to protect Lissa (from what I refuse to say so I wont give it all away) and they were finally caught by the guardians from the school and brought back, causing alot of drama among the students and their own lives....that is all I will say, you will jsut have to read it yourself in order to find out what happens!

Well I really hope I have convinced some of you to read this really entertaining book, and I hope that I managed to keep it short enough!

This is the first in a series by Richelle Mead, right? I heard about this book a while back and have been tempted to read it, but since there's such a deluge of vampire books out now, my brain kind of fogs over at the thought of reading more, haha. There have been lots of good reviews and recs for this book, though, and since you say it has comical characters, that's definitely made me more interested to read this. I'm always a sucker for anything with humor.

Ooh, I just punned, haha. Its the vampires' fault for being so punnable. XD

hmm...even with the stink of Twilight everywhere this has created an itch of curiousity
I will have to look more into it, maybe read one chapter or so to see what I would be getting myself into
No more super-Hallmark-card-sparkling-marble-armed vampires plz @.@

I keep seeing the covers for those books everywhere. They kinda put me off. I don't know why. On the whole Twilight thing... All I can say is that I'm glad nobody ever used Robert Pattison for an RT character. Hahaha wow, could you imagine that? We'd have to kill off the character fo sho.

So when I first saw these books I was like - LAME! and I thought they were more of a rip off of House of Night.

They are not!

They shouldn't even be called Vampire Academy, as about 75% of the books has nothing to do with the school. It is definitely not Hogwarts for vampires.

It's about vampires and half-vampires (dhampirs) so it's kind of like...Bloodrayne plus a little bit of House of Night and a whole lot of star-crossed loverness. They are highly entertaining, the main character, Rose actually changes over time - not just physically aging but it is obvious the way she is maturing and how damaged she becomes from all the things she lived through. Plus, there's smexy Dimitri who is Russian and dresses like a cowboy, the drunk but loveable Adrian, and the totally angry badass Christian Ozera. Rose's best friend, Lissa, is really the only character who is kind of a let down, and at certain points in this series, I hated her. Absolutely hated her and thought she was an oblivious selfish bitch.

However, I love them enough that I am going to a book signing for this author (Richelle Mead) on Saturday because the last book in the series came out this past Tuesday. Except I got it last Saturday, because my wal-mart made a mistake (YES!) so I read the whole thing before it actually came out.

Anyways, if you want entertainment and amusement and lots and lots of kick assness, I reccomend these totally.
