I really hope they make Uglies
only about 20% of books that are prompted to be movies actually get made into movies

and honestly i would much rather see Uglies turned into a movie than Twilight
only because Twilight is best as a book
and Uglies speaks so much more to our generation
i think making it a movie would make it much more accesible to those who dont read (mostly the ones who need it dont read anyway Confused)

I'd have to agree.

Uglies brings more to the table as a movie when compared to Twilight.

It's set in a futuristic world witch could come out graphically stunning. and well the hover boarding scenes will be just fawsome .

I completely agree with you that Uglies is more relevant to the current generation. It would have such a controversial impact, it'd be fabulous.

and new kick butt hoverboards Very Happy

They'll need some pretty kick-ass actors to do that movie though, and is the book really that popular to get actors/actresses with that talent? Confused

anyone think Eva Amurri might be a good pick for the role of Tally?
im still an avid Kristen Stewart supporter
but she could pull it off, maybe
and if not Tally then maybe Shay?
(even though Oh my God, Missy Peregrym was my first pic for Shay and she is playing all evil like on Heroes so well that she could totally do it ^0^)

I don't know why but I see her as more of a Shay. Kristen is THE one for Tally, I'm thinking and Shay has a lot of different possibilities.

(Missy Peregrym is on Heroes? o.o I'm so clueless sometimes... *sigh*)

I know... I tried a couple of weeks ago, but you can only watch it in the US.... they don't want people anywhere else around the world to watch the episodes on the net before they watch it on TV (stupid viewer ratings, etc).

Ammy is sad. Sad I managed to get Episode 11 off someone, but after that, I'm all out. And they're playing #11 this week anyway.

i hadn't checked imdb for Uglies in awhile...and apparently it's much more seriously in production. there have been a few casting calls, and there's even a small (and crappy) summary up on the page. interesting...*crosses fingers*

i've decided i don't care if the movie isn't that great if it gets more people to read Scott.

xD. Yeah. This is also one of those movies which can be made in so many different ways because the world has so many different possibilities.

But I found the special effects to be good. At least the special effects. (And the right Tally--Kristen Stewart.) Apart from that, I'm with you.

I hope they use my cast-list. Very Happy I made it just in time, but they probably won't .. and they'll probably use some non-talent like Paris Hilton or Jordan to do Tally.

Did you mean that in the way that they'd randomly end up choosing the same people as the actors in your cast list or that they'd specifically choose the actors in your cast list?

im sorry but i CANNOT imagine Kristen Stewart playing the role of Tally-wa or Shay-la because she is already the one and only Bella to all of us! im just saying that it would be weird to see her as both Bella AND Tally-wa/Shay-la!

even if she fits the physical profile of either one of them, i still only see her as Edward's Bella...sorry but i would HATE it if they had her play a major role in Uglies!

but then again that's just my opinion on that subject...so whatever.

word, I cant see her as Tally anymore
I am kind of hating Twilight (andKristenStewartalittle, isthatwrong?) more and more
Someone asked me today how it was and I just kind of said: "Ehhh..."
And my friend works at Blockbuster
I dread the day when it comes out on DVD and she is overrun with people grabbing the movie like candy @.@

Ug, I know. I am kinda sick of all of the people absolutely obsessed with the movie. The store that I work at is opening up from midnight to one am on the release date just so people can buy the damn movie. Like sure, I want this movie.. but not that bad.

I miss the days when I used to bring Twilight to work and NOBODY knew anything about the book. Now I would never read it in public.

haha I wouldn't either. That is so sad. True bookies are humiliated by the weirdness of Twilight obsession.

I don't really see Kristen Stewart as Tally...I want all unknowns. Blank slates.
and even weirder, I want the Sci-Fi channel here in the US to make it, because they do pretty good book-to-movie adaptations, and they always have fun special effects. they'd do the whole series in about two years, it would be fantastic.

I agree!
SciFi is wonderful
and if they got blank slates to do it I would enjoy seeing new actors, fresh faces, interpretations without the baggage of their past works
Ya know?
Like, from now on people won't see Robert as Cedric or remember Kristen from Panic Room
This movie will forever be what they are remembered for
And that depresses me

THOUGH: Robert wins in my eyes cause of those articles where he talks about how much he hates Edward and the character and yadda yadda
It makes him win for me ^.^

I still think of him as Cedric. I had some serious Cedric-love when the movie first came out. I don't want him to be Edward, lol. He still doesn't look like Edward to me.

I think I want to do a new Uglies cast list and see who I come up with. That could be fun.

I still haven't seen Twilight. Its not that I'm so opposed to it that I REFUSE to see it.. Its just... I hardly go to the movies right now, or when it came out. I'm in a drought of movie-going for the moment. Its just happened I never saw it. Although, given the option, I probably wouldn't have gone to go see it. Hahaha. I do want to see it eventually though.

I second Ash and Suz though. Robert = Cedric no matter what. Especially in the behind the scenes of Goblet of Fire and you went in the studio for a day with Robert. It was the day they were filming his death. It seriously took the entire day for them to film Voldemort killing Cedric and him flying across the room on a big stringy rope thing. Afterwards, he complained of his man parts hurting. *giggle*

I would love Uglies to be done on a smaller scale. We have an Aussie SciFi channel here on Foxtel (paytv).. Its probably quite similar to the US version. In fact, its probably a carbon copy of it. Haha. But still, it would rock. Kirsten Stewart just couldn't be Tally now, coz of the fanbase. That sucks.

I'd love to see Emily Browning as Tally Youngblood now. She looks similar to the girl on the US front cover, and she's a great actress (she was awesome in Stranded, even though she wasn't that great in ASOUE). I'm looking forward to seeing The Uninvited. Kristen Stewart is so over-rated and over-hyped these days, plus people only see her as Bella--even on the radio, when she was talking about her other movies, the radio host cut her off and asked her more questions about Twilight. Same with Ellen Page, she can no longer be Shay because everybody sees her as Juno, which is sad, because she was incredible in Hard Candy.

IMDB has a disappointing lack of information here. Other than ... next year?
